ABOUT SHO FARM

SHO Farm is a 1296-acre regenerative-vegan research farm, and wildlife and duck sanctuary in the Green Mountains of Vermont, built on the principles of wild-tending, permaculture and agroforestry.

We’re Shawn Smith and Melissa Hoffman . Smith+Hoffman=SHO. We’re farmers and land stewards. We’re invested in the long-term viability of food-medicine agriculture and the ecosystems that support life on our delicate and resilient planet.

We’ve also dealt with medical issues unique to women such as endometriosis, in addition to the long-term treatment of Lyme disease. Thus, many of the products we offer for sale emanate from direct experience with the plants around us.

This SHO Farm web store exists to support animals, ecosystems, and human health. Purchases from SHO Farm allow us to conserve land for wildlife, support SHO’s non-profit rescue duck sanctuary, and continue SHO Farm’s valuable research into wildlife-friendly, no-kill vegan agriculture. We want to earn ‘just enough’ to cover our expenses to keep doing the kind of land stewardship we believe in on our farm.

We have found a way to grow annual plants as a part of our eco-systemic farming practice, so that multiple benefits come from their cultivation (see our Regenerative Vegan Growing at SHO in the Resources section).

We’re not interested in mining or tilling our soils, growing mono-crops under plastic mulch, cashing in on medicinal plant trends. We truly wish to offer a products that have helped us immensely, grown in such a way that honors animals and the entire web of life and allows us to keep SHO Farm what it is while making a modest living. We are honored to offer these products from our farm, from our many years of research, and from our kitchen

We bring you SHO products as part of our service to life, and to support the work many of us do on behalf of animals; including making personal changes in habit and consumer choices on their behalf.

If you like what we do, please buy SHO Farm products!! Profits are literally “For the Birds!!”—and all the wildlife with whom we share our home.
