We research sophisticated ways of integrating wildlife into food systems, merging agroforestry/permaculture with wildlife ecology to reverse the catastrophic trend of biodiversity loss.
Our farming approach embraces wild foods, mushrooms, and medicinals alongside cultivated crops. Moreover, we design in partnership with wildlife, building habitat as we go. We have developed methods of capturing wildlife manures into the food system by observing preferred travel routes over time, and designing specific plantings to provide browse for our wild neighbors and fertilizer for our own food.
We work closely with wildlife ecologists to design habitat as we design human food systems, to harmoniously blend working + wild stewardship goals.
