WE GATHER & PREPARE SMALL AMOUNTS OF MANY THINGS

“Small amounts of many things” honors a time when we met our needs with a variety of wild and culitivated plants. Returning to a wild + cultivated plant-and- medicine lifeway allows us to re-inhabit the land and expand our relationship with the larger family of life.

SINGLE ORIGIN

We are proud to offer the many wild and cultivated gifts that come from our 1300-acre farm, sanctuary, and wildlife refuge. Every plant is home-grown. Every purchase you make helps support a kinship approach to land care and the wellbeing of animals and humans. Each product carries the energy and extreme respect for the beings with whom we share this earth. We take what we need ourselves, and make a little extra to share with you. We encourage trade. Please enquire if you would like to exchange your abundance.

SOLD OUT! Birch Syrup, 4oz or 2oz, Beyond Organic

from $15.00

This birch syrup is pretty special. We collect the sap by hand using traditional buckets to explore the variety of foods and flavors available in a perennial forest ecosystem. All this year’s sap comes from yellow birch, in the rich, moist woods where older maples are living out their years.

The flavor is excellent: caramel-like and fruity. It is thinner than maple syrup due to its higher fructose content. We boil the sap in small batches to reach 65% sugar content. It takes about 7 gallons of sap to yield a half a pint of finished syrup! So this is a true labor of love.

All proceeds from this small-batch run support our duck sanctuary, where the rescue flock forages in the permaculture system. We’re committed to exploring synergies between sanctuary and farm.

New farm resident Alex Lampel set the buckets and gathered the sap, so your purchase also supports regenerative forest farming!

We’re still collecting and boiling, but the first batch is ready!
