Every purchase you make helps support a kinship approach to land care and the wellbeing of animals and humans. Each product carries the energy and extreme respect for the beings with whom we share this earth. We take what we need ourselves, and make a little extra to share with you. We encourage trade. Our CSA share will not only benefit you and your friends and family health-wise, you will be directly supporting a more Indigenous model forest stewardship that values wildlife, and builds the non-timber forest economy. All proceeds help animals and their habitats. All plants and fungi are responsibly gathered, always with expanded propagation in mind.

Our Farm is located in Huntington, Vermont, 35 minutes from Burlington, 45 minutes from Montpelier, and 50 minutes from Middlebury. BEGINS IN MID-JUNE! This is a GREAT value at $36 per box, which often will contain a $25 bottle of medicinal tincture. This is your immune protection!

HOW IT WORKS

Like other vegetable CSAs, you pay us upfront, and we provide you with a box of seasonal elixers every two weeks for 8 months out of the year. Most all products will come directly from our own forest, which is managed for wildlife habitat, ecological forestry, and wild edibles, especially mushrooms. We combine culinary excellence with trustworthy knowledge about what grows on our 1300-acre, pristine mountain refuge. You can pick up your box at the farm during a 2-day window as is convenient for you. If you live within 10 miles of us, we will deliver it to you. If you live within the greater Burlington area, we can arrange a drop-off spot. Once the 6 slots are subscribed, we can better coordinate delivery of your box. Pick up your new box and drop of your old one.

Each delivery will include a wood crate filled with various combinations of:

1. Medicinal mushroom stock, ready to use. Simply add your own scallions, any vegetables, noodles or rice and you have a beautiful meal. We harvest whatever the season may be offering and transform what we harvest into gastronomical and medicinal stock. Stock recipes will change, some mimicking Japanese dashi, some mimicking darker, herbed stocks, some mimicking chicken stocks. We will often incorporate homemade smoked salts, homemade miso, soy sauce, Vermont organic garlic, our own herbs like thyme, and wild harvested Maine kelp. Along with wild reishi, turkey tail, chaga, pheasantback, honey mushrooms, sulfer shelf mushrooms, chanterelles, oyster mushrooms--the many widely-regarded edibles that grow abundantly in Vermont's forests. These stocks can be used in ramen bowls, as stand-alone hot drinks, as bases for innovative soups, they can be reduced with added pectin as glazes, they can be used in stir-fries thickened with corn starch, or in marinades that call for deep flavors. Any stocks not used immediately can easily be frozen for later enjoyment.

2. Several 1L swing-top bottles of creative probiotic brews made with water kefir, particularly our signature 'wild myco cola' made with chaga, turkey tail, our own seaberry juice, vanilla, ginger, birch syrup, and maple syrup. This delicious cola provides immune support alongside flavor that rivals any soda out there! AND it's probiotic! We also make an excellent maple-pine probiotic soda that contains natural vitamin C found in pine needles. Black locust probiotic ‘champagne’ will grace your box, as will milkweed blossom probiotic ‘champagne’. You may received a forest beer as well, with added hops. These water kefir bottles require refrigeration and special handling when opening, as the live cultures can overflow when first opened. We will supply you with full handling instructions.

These water kefirs will keep and age for months. As they age, they gain in complexity and dryness. Any can be further sweetened to taste. We prefer less-sweet brews, but anyone can adjust sweetness to taste at home. Brews may contain small amounts of alcohol, usually under 1%.

3. Tinctures made with medicinal mushrooms that can be used as part of an immune-enhancing regimen, or can be added to sauces and stocks to bump up their medicinal value. We double extract reishi, red-belted polypore, artist conk, birch polypore, chaga, turkey tail, and lion's mane (combining an alcohol extraction with a water extraction) to capture vital medicinal components that may not be as easily accessible in water extractions. These tinctures are more bitter, and best taken medicinally. But they provide invaluable support for healing. Pine pollen tincture may also be included.

4. Dried reishi and chaga with instructions for brewing into teas or chai.

5. Concentrated chaga chai, with long-brewed chaga and spices, ready for you to drink with your favorite sweetener (or not) and plant milk. Chaga Chai ingredients may include: ginger, star anise, turmeric, cinnamon, fennel seed, black pepper, vanilla, allspice, clove.

6. Concentrated plain brewed chaga to add to coffee. You can reduce caffeine and gain immune protection at the same time, without noticing any flavor change. It's a GREAT way to benefit from this incredible mushroom.

7. Fresh mushrooms when the timing permits. Freshness is key, and if we find a cache of chanterelles, for example, right before your delivery time, you'll get some!

8. Salves made with things like pine resin (as a stimulating muscle and joint rub), or plantain, or poplar buds ("Balm of Gilead") as a soothing muscle rub).

9. Smoked salts from the land.

10. Ramp oil, used as a flavor accent in dishes, great in noodle bowls, or as a colorful, rich accent for soups.

11. Brews and Broths may also include wood nettle, ramp leaves, wild ginger, sarsparilla root, wintergreen, mountain mint, dandelion root, lovage, oregano, and thyme.

12. Infused apple cider vinegars with medicinal and flavor-filled plants like pine, yellow dock seeds, red clover, oregano, thyme. Vinegars extract calcium from plant leaves and the resulting vinegars absorb the calcium. They are less acidic, so need to be refrigerated for longevity—but they will contain a good deal of daily calcium with each use on salads, in pasta sauces, or in soups and stews.

COST: You will receive well over $50 worth of products each delivery. 16 deliveries would yield $800, but we're offering a discount. For $580, you will receive almost a years' worth of protective cuisine that can serve as a base for many meals, making it easy and natural to take in a variety of immune-enhancing and healing mushrooms.
